Radiologic Technologist Opportunity!
32 hours a week
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 3:30PM to midnight, Every other weekend 3:30pm to midnight

Norwalk Hospital is a 366-bed academic and community medical center serving Fairfield County, Connecticut, and the surrounding New York Metro area. We are a Level II Trauma Center and Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, and we provide advanced cancer, heart, and neuroscience care.

Summary:
Performs diagnostic radiographs of patients while maintaining patient safety. May provide clinical instruction to prospective Radiologic Technologist students and assist in evaluating student�s ability to perform procedures.
Responsibilities:
Greet patient, introduces self, and checks patient identification.
Reviews patient script and Cerner requisition to ensure the appropriate exam is being performed.
Acquires appropriate history from patient that is pertinent to the exam being performed.
Explains procedure and answers any questions the patient has regarding the test.
Follows department protocol for exam and ensures the safety & comfort of the patient.
Shields patient according to department protocol and follows ALARA standards.
Produces and review high quality x-rays for interpretation by the Radiologist.
Interacts professionally with patient and family.
Attends annual hospital review & departmental in-services meetings. Practices medicine & surgical aseptic procedures. Assists Radiologist with invasive procedures. Works well with other modalities to provide complete patient care.
May provide clinical instruction to prospective radiographers to instill duties of a radiologic technologist in a health care facility. May evaluate a students'' ability to perform procedures & ensures student attains objectives of each competency.
Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems and in accordance with department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.
Maintains clinical competency and demonstrates proficiency to work in assigned patient care area(s).
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
New graduate or within 2 months of graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologic Program.
Experience:
0-1 year of experience
Licensure, Certification, Registration Required:
Must obtain CT licensure within 120 days of graduation date.
Will work under supervision in accordance with the State Practice Act.
Must pass licensure exam when administered on the first attempt in order to continue employment.
