    Pay Range: $27.25–$35.67 per hour ($56,680–$74,194 annually)
    Shift Differentials: $2.75 per hour for nights | $2.50 per hour for weekends
    Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 with a two-year commitment

    Job Overview

    A leading healthcare organization is seeking Radiologic Technologists to join its Diagnostic Radiology team in Peoria, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced technologists and qualified new graduates to build their skills in a large, fast-paced acute-care environment.

    The Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging examinations for inpatient, outpatient, emergency, trauma, and surgical patients. The role includes fixed-room imaging, portable radiography, and fluoroscopic procedures using C-arm equipment in surgical and sterile environments.

    The department supports a broad range of patient populations and provides exposure to emergency and Level I trauma imaging, operating room procedures, portable exams, and complex hospital-based radiography.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
    • Provide imaging services to inpatient, outpatient, emergency, trauma, and surgical patients
    • Perform portable radiographic examinations throughout the hospital
    • Operate C-arm fluoroscopy equipment during surgical and sterile procedures
    • Prepare and position patients accurately for diagnostic examinations
    • Review patient medical histories and verify appropriate imaging orders
    • Explain procedures to patients and answer questions regarding the imaging process
    • Select appropriate positioning techniques and technical factors based on the examination and patient condition
    • Adapt imaging techniques for pediatric, geriatric, trauma, and medically complex patients
    • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure
    • Review completed images for quality, positioning, and completeness
    • Collaborate with radiologists and other providers when additional imaging may be required
    • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout examinations
    • Follow infection-control, radiation-safety, and sterile-procedure standards
    • Operate portable, fixed-room, and surgical imaging equipment safely and effectively
    • Document examinations and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
    • Maintain appropriate communication with physicians, nurses, surgical teams, and other clinical departments
    • Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage

    • OEC surgical imaging systems

    • O-arm imaging systems
    • Portable radiography equipment
    • Epic electronic medical record
    • Change Healthcare PACS

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
    • Current or eligible ARRT registration in Radiography
    • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency radiography accreditation/licensure as required
    • Current Basic Life Support certification
    • Strong understanding of radiographic anatomy, physiology, positioning, and technical factors
    • Ability to safely perform diagnostic imaging across a variety of patient populations
    • Strong communication and patient-care skills
    • Ability to work effectively in emergency, trauma, inpatient, and procedural environments
    • Ability to meet rotating weekend and holiday scheduling requirements

    Preferred

    • One or more years of Radiologic Technologist experience
    • Acute-care hospital experience
    • Emergency or trauma imaging experience
    • Portable radiography experience
    • Operating room and C-arm fluoroscopy experience
    • Experience with Epic and PACS

    Department Information

    The imaging department includes:

    • Main/Inpatient Department: 5 diagnostic rooms, 6 portable units, and 1 Panorex unit
    • Emergency Department: 2 fixed imaging rooms, 2 overhead-mounted trauma rooms, and 1 portable unit
    • Surgery: 11 C-arms, 2 O-arms, and 2 portable units
    • Outpatient Imaging: 3 on-campus imaging rooms

    Technologists work alongside other clinical team members and are not routinely assigned to work alone. There is no regular on-call requirement.
