Job Title: Radiologic Technologist (Radiographer)
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Overnight | 5x8-Hour Shifts | 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Compensation
- Traveler Pay: $2,900 Weekly
- Local Pay: $ 2,400 Weekly
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join a healthcare imaging team. The Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic examinations while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiation protection standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively during overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Position patients appropriately to capture required anatomical structures and views.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy before submission for interpretation.
- Ensure proper image documentation and transfer within the imaging system.
Patient Care
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and explain examination processes.
- Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout imaging procedures.
- Verify patient identity and confirm examination orders prior to imaging.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all radiation safety and infection control standards.
- Utilize appropriate shielding and radiation protection techniques.
- Maintain compliance with departmental, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of imaging equipment.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Accurately document procedures, patient information, and imaging records.
- Communicate critical findings and workflow updates as appropriate.
- Assist with departmental quality improvement and patient care initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology training program or equivalent military training.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current certification and registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
- BLS Certification preferred but not required.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of recent General Radiography experience.
