Special Salary Information:
WORKFORCE SHORTAGE BONUSES:
Due to a critical shortage, new and current employees will be granted a temporary bonus placing them at step 8 ($109,538.16) of the salary range. This temporary bonus is in effect until June 30, 2026, or until it is driven that a shortage no longer exists, whichever happens sooner.

Essential Job Functions
Receives request from physician for special radiographic procedure.
Based on the physicians tentative diagnosis, determines equipment requirements for the procedure and scout films necessary for physicians preliminary viewing.
Tests special equipment such as contrast media injectors, program selectors, and film changers for function prior to examination to ensure that equipment elements are timed and synchronized to operate at desired intervals.
Loads cut or roll film changers and cine cameras, making certain of correct sequencing and film transport.
Sets program selector in accordance with protocol, and uses independent judgment to reset program selector in accordance with physicians desired examination results.

LICENSE:
To be considered for this role, at the time of hire, you will need to have a Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy permit and one of the following, both issued by the California State Department of Public Health (CSDPH), and will need to provide the hiring team supporting documentation:
Current and active Radiologic Technologist certification
A temporary permit to practice Radiologic Technology

Experience at the level of Radiologic Technologist in the County of Los Angeles is defined as: Performs radiographic procedures employing the use of X-ray to produce images of various parts of the body for the diagnosis of pathological and traumatic disorders.
You may still qualify even if your job title isn't exactly the same as the ones listed. What matters is that your experience is at a similar level - meaning your job involves similar responsibilities, requires comparable skills and knowledge, and takes place within a similar organizational structure. PHYSICAL CLASS:
3 - Moderate: Includes standing or walking most of the time, with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.

OUT OF CLASS INFORMATION: County employees who wish to meet the requirements using out-of-class experience will be considered for this examination. Those claiming out-of-class experience should describe their out-of-class duties in detail in the Work Experience and Supplemental Questions sections of their application. Applicants are also encouraged to submit any supporting documentation such as out of class/additional responsibility bonuses, verification of experience documents, and performance evaluations in order to assist staff's review of applicants qualifications. No withholds are allowed for this examination.

EXAMINATION CONTENT:
This examination will consist of an evaluation of experience and education based upon application information, desirable qualifications and supplemental questionnaire, weighted 100%.
Applicants must receive a passing score of 70% or higher on this examination to be added to the eligible register.
ELIGIBILITY AND VACANCY INFORMATION:
Applications will be processed as they are received and added to the eligible register accordingly.
Candidates who have received a passing score are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of six (6) months.
No person may compete in this examination more than once every six (6) months.
The eligible register for this examination will be used to fill vacancies throughout the Department of Health Services as they occur.
AVAILABLE SHIFT:
Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
