JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Radiology

Department: Radiology

Reports To: X-Ray Manager


Position Summary:

Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs to assist providers in the diagnosis of patient care.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education, License and Certifications Required:
  • AART certified
  • North Dakota licensed technologist
  • Experience Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Experience is preferred but not required
  • Special Skills or Training:
    • Positive attitude toward all patients and especially the elderly and ill.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Moderate amount of walking, stair climbing and standing
    • Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients
    • Lifting: up to 35 pounds
    • Ability to communicate with patients, residents, families and personnel
    • Ability to Remain Calm Under Stress

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure patient safety while performing all duties and responsibilities, including maintaining a safe work environment.
  2. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including x-rays and CT scans with accuracy and efficiency according to provider orders and established protocols.
  3. Perform exams during Clinic hours on clinic, ER and hospital patients
  4. Perform on-call services as scheduled, including rotating weekends and holidays.
  5. Review images for diagnostic quality and forward studies to radiologists for interpretation.
  6. Schedule and coordinate patient imaging appointments, maintaining an organized workflow.
  7. Adhere to all radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff and yourself.
  8. Ensure adequate equipment and supply inventory levels are maintained.
  9. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring safety standards and quality control are met, report any issues, and arrange service when needed.
  10. Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and exam logs.
  11. See that all tests ordered are performed in accordance with urgency and stat response requirements.
  12. Radiology employees: supervise, hire, train, schedule and evaluate. Ensure competency of all staff within both departments.
  13. Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in accordance with established Universal Precautions and sanitary, safety and infection prevention policies and procedures, making sure all required information is documented appropriately.
  14. Know and comply with Residents' and Patients' Rights rules.
  15. Maintain Patient Confidentiality and protect Patient Information.
  16. Attend and participate in orientation, training, mandatory education, in-services, staff meetings, and education courses as instructed to further improve knowledge and skills, including Incident Command System training (ICS) for emergency preparedness.
  17. Treat Patients, Residents, Visitors and Co-workers with kindness, dignity and respect at all times.
  18. Promote teamwork; encourage others to work to the best of their ability.
