    Job Description

    Gillette Children’s is seeking a motivated and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our Imaging team. This position will work primarily at our St. Paul hospital location, with a strong focus on providing imaging support within the Operating Room (OR). 

    We’re looking for an individual who is independent, responsible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role will provide a variety of intraoperative imaging services, including C-arm, O-arm, portable, and other intraoperative imaging procedures, while collaborating closely with surgeons, OR staff, and other members of the care team. 

    The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work effectively with minimal supervision, and committed to providing high-quality imaging and exceptional patient care. Previous OR experience is strongly preferred.

    Schedule: Working hours/shifts may vary between the hours of 6:45am-7:15pm Tuesday-Friday with rotational call evenings, weekends, and holidays. Additional coverage in our general x-ray department as needed. This is a 0.8 FTE, benefit eligible position.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The hourly wage for this opportunity is $31.36/hour to $45.44/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure.  Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees.     Sign-On Bonus: This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000. The bonus amount will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Responds to physician orders for diagnostic imaging procedures by producing high quality images which meet the expectations of the ordering physicians and radiologists.
    • Proficient and safe use of imaging equipment including:
      • Radiographic
      • C-arm, O-arm
      • Portable radiographic
      • Fluoroscopic
    • Proficient and safe use of ancillary equipment relevant to the modality including:
      • Computed radiography
      • Positioning devices
      • Ceiling lift
      • Imaging printers
      • Digitizer
      • PACS
      • RIS
    • Proficient in all exam types for the assigned modality.
      • Radiographic: Skull, Spine, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, Upper and Lower Extremity, Intraoperative
      • Fluoroscopic, C-arm, and O-arm
    • Performs patient assessment of pain, pregnancy, ability to complete the exam
    • Performs patient education concerning the procedure
    • Documents patient history
    • Properly positions the patient
    • Selects the exam protocol
    • Selects the equipment parameters/technical factors
    • Discharges the patient with post procedure instructions
    • Evaluates resulting images
    • Accepts or rejects images appropriately

     

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment. 
    • Certified and in good standing with the ARRT prior to start date.  
    • Experience working in a digital imaging environment. 

    Preferred:

    • Associates’ Degree 
    • OR experience
