Overview

We are seeking three (3) Board-Certified Radiologists to provide on-site radiology physician services to beneficiaries of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Providers will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology services consistent with VA standards and nationally recognized clinical guidelines.

• BLS and ACLS Certifications
• American Board of Radiology Certification

Specialties Accepted

Radiologists must be board-certified and qualified in one or more of the following areas:

• Abdominal / Genitourinary (GU)
• Breast Imaging
• Cardiovascular Radiology
• General Diagnostic Radiology
• Interventional Radiology
• Musculoskeletal Radiology
• Neuroradiology
• Authorized User (AU)

Qualifications

Licensure

• Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
• License must be current and in good standing
• Any history of restricted, suspended, revoked, or surrendered licenses will render the candidate ineligible

Board Certification

• Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
• All continuing education requirements must be current
• Annual documentation of certification is required

Technical & Professional Proficiency

• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Demonstrated technical competency and clinical expertise
• Ability to provide documentation verifying education, training, licensure, certification, and any gaps in training history
• Compliance with VA Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations

Scope of Practice

Clinical Duties (Approximately 95%)

• Provide diagnostic and interventional radiology services including:
  • Diagnostic Radiology
  • Ultrasound
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Interventional Radiology (IR)
• Participate in scheduled clinics and procedures with on-time physical presence
• Review consults, orders, and next-day cases (minimum of 2 hours daily)
• Communicate results to providers and patients per VA standards
• Consult with referring clinicians on appropriate imaging and procedures
• Determine and communicate treatment plans
• Provide post-procedure evaluations, follow-up care, and consultation for complications
• Adhere to all established medication policies (no sample medications)
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions for emergency department patients

Administrative Responsibilities (Approximately 5%)

• Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities
• Attend staff and service meetings as required
• Conduct peer reviews (approximately 4 hours per month)
• Complete required QI/QA documentation
• Comply with all patient safety and infection control standards
• Report safety events and incidents within 24 hours following VA reporting requirements

Schedule & On-Call Requirements

Standard Hours

• Clinic/OR Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

On-Call Coverage

• Weekdays: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM
• Weekends: Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM
• On-call assignments rotate weekly
• On-call physicians must:
  • Be reachable by phone within 15 minutes
  • Be available on-site within 60 minutes
