Position Overview

The Radiologist will be responsible for diagnosing and examining disorders and diseases through the use of diagnostic imaging equipment and procedures. This role involves delivering age-appropriate and specialty-specific medical care through assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, recognition and prevention of adverse events, treatment, and follow-up. The Radiologist will engage in four key areas: clinical practice, education, leadership, and professional development. Collaboration with colleagues and other healthcare professionals is essential to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care, leading to optimal patient outcomes. Continuous monitoring of quality patient care is expected, emphasizing excellent customer service and performance improvement. Strong communication skills are vital for interactions with patients, families, caregivers, multidisciplinary team members, and medical staff. A commitment to quality and safety in patient care is paramount, as is participation in the integrated continuum of care within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver radiology services based on evidence-based guidelines in a timely manner.
  • Conduct fluoroscopic and other procedures, recognizing and addressing complications as they arise (not applicable for remote radiologists).
  • Thoroughly review medical records and communicate effectively with referring clinicians.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging procedures, including MRI, CT, PET, nuclear cardiology treadmill studies, mammography, and ultrasound.
  • Utilize picture archiving and communications systems to review and transmit images and information.
  • Communicate examination results and diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, documenting evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, referrals, and consultations in compliance with NCQA, Joint Commission, state, and other regulatory standards. Fully utilize the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, particularly in areas with a high risk of error.
  • Participate in continuing education to enhance and maintain expertise.
  • Implement protocols related to drugs, resuscitation, emergencies, power failures, and infection control.
  • Serve as a teleradiologist to support on-site radiologists (not applicable for onsite radiologists).
  • Adhere to organizational bylaws, rules, and regulations, fostering a professional atmosphere.
  • Treat all customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect, considering their views and feelings.
  • Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction and demonstrate positive interpersonal skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Doctorate Degree in Radiology
  • Credentials: Physician MD or DO
  • Experience: Relevant experience in the field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Advanced education in Radiology
  • Credentials: Board Certification from the American Board of Radiology
  • Experience: Additional relevant experience in the field
