Radiology Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
The Radiology Physician provides comprehensive radiological interpretation of studies for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, from newborn to elderly. Serve as a general radiological consultant to government medical personnel, physicians, and ancillary providers across all referring facilities.
Examination images captured by NMVAHCS will be transmitted to the contractor using the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) protocol and the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) compliant encryption. Upon receipt of captured image and patient information from NMVAHCS the contractor shall provide an interpretation for studies.Provide consultation, reporting radiological diagnostic examinations, delivering interpretation of studies, and diagnosing X-rays.
The Radiology Physician recommends and directs patient care and treatment, consulting with the requesting physician before a procedure to minimize patient invasion.
Contractor shall provide a transcribed final report, which will be uploaded to the respective VAMC's hospital information system(s) and electronically signed by the interpreting radiologists.The Radiology Physician provides technical direction for technologists and ancillary personnel in the department during their duties.
Radiology Physician - REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 1 year as a Radiology Physician within the last 2 years.
Education: Completion of a Radiology residency program.
Board Certification: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology by ABR, AOBR, or ABIM.
License: Must have an active, unrestricted medical license and radiology certification.
BLS Certification: Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Specialization (Optional): Experience in diagnostic radiology, CT, ultrasound, 3D Tomosynthesis mammography, and MRI is desirable.
This requirement is for nights and weekends.
