• Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour days, 07:30 16:00; call requirement included (see Work Environment)

Job Summary

This is a combo lab (IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP) position with an approximate 80%/10% split, with IR being 80% and other procedure types comprising the remaining 10%. The tech will assist the provider while performing diagnostic/interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, including scrubbing and circulating IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures. Medication administration is performed by RN only. Patient age groups served are Adults and Geriatrics. Patient diagnoses include Vice Implants: PPM and ICD.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate IR/Cath Lab procedures and cardiology procedures
• Assist the provider while performing diagnostic/interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
• Expect and respond to urgent/emergent cardiology and interventional radiology procedures
• Respond to STEMI callbacks within 30 minutes; IR callback time is determined based on procedure type
• Operate and utilize specialized lab equipment including: Client MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and Client Labs, Angio Jet, Penumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System for Implanta Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella

Required Skills

• IR (Interventional Radiology) experience REQUIRED; 90% of procedures are IR

• Perform EKG lead placement

Education Requirements

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Required
• BCLS (Basic Cardiovascular Life Support) Required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Required (or RCIS)
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) Required (or ARRT)
• ARRT Advanced Certification Preferred
• RCES Preferred
• RCIS with Medical Experience Preferred

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Traveler experience: Not required
• Locals accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Call Requirement:

- Minimum: 7 call days per month - Typical Schedule: Two call days per week for two weeks each month; one call weekend per month - Additional Coverage: May be required to meet departmental needs; rotated equitably among all staff members

• Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time is determined based on procedure type
• Call team consists of three staff members, one of whom is an RN
• Float Requirement: NONE
• Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
• Scheduling Type: Per Unit Needs
• NO HOLIDAY RTO FOR THIS ROLE
• Unit Orientation: 40 hours; 40 80 hours
• Scrubs: Yes scrubs are provided
• Flu vaccination: Required Medical/Religious Exemptions Only
• COVID-19: Not Required

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• For this unit, techs start directly on the unit on Mondays until they have their Dimensions training.
