Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Day shift (5x8 Hours), 6:45 AM 3:15 PM, Monday Friday. Occasional late days, typically 4 5 days per month; it is rare that staff will work in the lab after 5:00 PM on those days.
  • Call Requirement: Call one day a week and every fifth weekend.
  • Float Requirement: Will float as needed.
  • Weekend Requirement: None

Job Summary

This is a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech contract opportunity at a healthcare facility in Winston Salem, NC. The position involves performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures at a 1:1 patient ratio. Patients are referred to the Cath Lab with a range of cardiovascular diagnoses or symptoms, often with suspicion or confirmation of heart or vascular disease. Diagnoses include coronary artery disease (stable angina, unstable angina/NSTEMI, STEMI), heart failure, valvular disease, congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, pericardial disease, and pre-operative evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab settings.
  • Assist with and support Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) balloon angioplasty and stent placement, PFO/ASD closure, cardiogenic shock, CTO, and related procedures.
  • Operate and monitor major specialty equipment including Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, Shockwave, and ACIST; utilize the client Mac Lab system.
  • Utilize unit systems for medication, documentation, and communication: Pyxis, SBAR, and Epic.
  • Float as needed across applicable areas.
  • Fulfill call requirement of one day per week and every fifth weekend.

  • Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • Occasional late days, typically 4 5 days per month; it is rare that staff will work in the lab after 5:00 PM on those days
  • On-call one day per week and every fifth weekend
  • Floating required as needed
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Unit orientation: 16 hours
