Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $70.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Wednesday Friday, 17:00 05:30 (3x12 Nights); 36 hours only can be offered

Job Summary

This is a contract MRI Tech position in a hospital-based radiology/cardiology department. The 3rd Shift Tech works independently in the department; an Occasional Ops Assistant may be on duty but is not guaranteed. The unit operates with a daily caseload of 40 across 3 rooms and accepts 13-week contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently on the night shift (3rd Shift) within the radiology/MRI department
  • Manage a daily caseload of 40 cases across 3 rooms
  • Perform MRI procedures including: Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal, Diffusion (non-brain), Gradient Echo Imaging, Image Post-Processing, Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP), Multiplanar Reconstruction (MRP), Perfusion, Peripheral Magnetic Resonance, Spectroscopy, Spin Echo Images, Surface Coils, and T-1 & T-2 Weighted Images
  • Provide care for patient age groups including Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics (required)
  • Operate Siemens (Avanto and Sola) and Client Premier equipment must be competent on both
  • Utilize unit systems: EPIC and Visage (PACS)
  • Apply PACS and Contrast knowledge in a general clinical setting

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Tech experience
  • MRI procedure experience: Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal, Diffusion (non-brain), Gradient Echo Imaging, Image Post-Processing, Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP), Multiplanar Reconstruction (MRP), Perfusion, Peripheral Magnetic Resonance, Spectroscopy, Spin Echo Images, Surface Coils, T-1 & T-2 Weighted Images
  • Work setting experience: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Adult ICU
  • General setting experience: PACS, Contrast
  • Proficiency with Siemens Avanto and Siemens Sola MRI equipment must be competent on both
  • Proficiency with Client Premier must be competent
  • Experience with EPIC and Visage (PACS) unit systems
  • Ability to work independently on nights with minimal supervision
  • Competency with patient age groups: Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics

Education Requirements

  • BLS certification required
  • ARRT(R) or ARRT(MR) certification required
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Tech
  • Unit will accept 1st time travelers
  • Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Night shift position: Wednesday Friday, 17:00 05:30 (3x12)
  • 36-hour weeks only no other shift configuration offered
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • 3rd Shift Tech works independently in department; an Occasional Ops Assistant may be on duty but is not guaranteed
  • Patient age groups served: Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
  • Scrubs: Royal Blue Tops and Bottoms
  • Unit orientation: 1 week first shift, then assessed for independence
  • RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not permitted to be worked out onsite; any call offs or additional RTO on unit could result in contract cancellation and DNR

Important Notes

  • Interview availability for the next 72 hours must be provided at time of submission; the manager will not extend an offer without first speaking to the candidate
  • Unit orientation is 1 week on first shift, followed by assessment for independence
  • RTO after booking is strictly not allowed and may not be worked out onsite; any call offs or additional RTO on the unit could result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire)
