Job Description:
The Radiology Clinical Instructor/Lead Tech provides clinical instruction for Radiologic Technology students and new employees. This position will represent U of L Hospital at various job fairs, career days etc. to assist with staff recruitment. The Radiology Clinical Instructor/Lead Tech abides by and ensures compliance with various regulatory and accrediting bodies including JCAHO and JRCERT. The Radiology Clinical Instructor/Lead Tech will be responsible for direct supervision of patient and staff workflow.
Essential Functions
- Prepares and monitors student clinical rotation schedules and room assignments
- Conducts and coordinates student and new employee orientation to the Radiology department.
- Completes clinical performance evaluations for Rad Tech students.
- Evaluation of student performance.
- Ensures required clinical competencies are provided and completed.
- Provides continuing education opportunities to staff technologists regularly
- Displays a positive image of the department and hospital
- Achieves excellence through teamwork by enhancing communications with employees, inspiring them to live the values, share the vision and goals of University Hospital.
- Ensures that the department operates within all hospital guidelines, policies and procedures. Performs duties of a staff technologist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
