The Department of Radiology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking a clinical medical physicist with a strong interest in clinical research to join our Clinical Medical Physics team. Cincinnati Children's is one of the largest standalone pediatric hospitals in the world, performing approximately 1,000 pediatric imaging exams each day across three hospital campuses and several ambulatory centers throughout the greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky region.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of five other dedicated clinical medical physicists and MRI scientists, representing one of the largest dedicated medical physics teams at a standalone pediatric institution in the world. Our team provides comprehensive physics expertise across CT, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, image-guided therapy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine (including PET and theranostics), and MRI.

The successful candidate will have strong technical, clinical, and scientific expertise in medical imaging and will contribute to the commissioning, optimization, and performance monitoring of imaging equipment. We emphasize efficient, scientifically rigorous, clinically relevant physics practices and a commitment to Medical Physics 3.0. Clinical responsibilities include collaboration with radiologists, clinical faculty, QI and regulatory staff, technologists, and radiology trainees.

Clinical research is a key component of this position. The successful candidate will participate in clinically relevant research with radiologists, scientists, and multidisciplinary investigators, with opportunities for investigator-initiated research, technology evaluation, imaging optimization, and collaboration with clinical and industry partners. We are particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrated record of clinical research and peer-reviewed publication who are eager to translate medical physics expertise into improved patient care. Dedicated protected research time will be available.

The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment through the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, including faculty benefits and protected research time.

    Required Qualifications

    • Board certification in Diagnostic Medical Physics or board eligible
    • Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics
    • Demonstrated experience in clinical research and peer-reviewed publication, with a strong interest in collaborative, clinically relevant research
