Summary:

  • The Radiology Imaging Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that patients receive quality and comprehensive coordinated services as directed. Position will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling biopsies and other invasive procedures accurately and in a timely manner in support of our clinical operation. The scope of this work includes: facilitating scheduling for patients, medical records, faxing/emailing, confirming contact information, providing directions and appointment related specifics, Epic documentation data collection and other duties as assigned. The Coordinator provides care coordination to patients with the goal of overcoming potential or realized barriers to care, providing education and resources to facilitate timely delivery of services, and improving patient outcomes. Their clinical experience will ensure optimal patient, radiologist and technologist flow amongst the Mammography, Ultrasound, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and MRI departments. The Coordinator collaborates with the multidisciplinary team as an advocate for inpatients and outpatients across the continuum of care, building relationships, and supporting patients. Serves as a liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding services provided for the patient population. 

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve and process incoming medical records/images, ensure scanning and physician review is completed. Ensure diagnostic testing and other evaluations are completed before visit.
  • Proficient in departmental and hospital information technologies such as PACS, PennChart and job specific related areas.
  • Performs all necessary checks for accuracy of the prescription, PennChart order and patient identification.
  • Exemplifies superior customer service skills and performs service recovery including importance of patient satisfaction, quality of care, and sound financial performance; and champions our successes and priorities for improving performance in meeting and exceeding patient and customer expectations.
  • Monitors the progress of patient completing all required testing and imaging to meet special clinical program or multiple specialty requirements from scheduling initial outpatient consult through procedure as needed
  • Receive outside films from other non-Penn facilities successfully uploads images in iSite, resolves exceptions, scans report in PennChart.
  • Drive patient/client loyalty and physician referral by ensuring staff under your supervision understand the UPHS commitment to service, their own work processes, and have the necessary skills to meet service expectations.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory standards and requirements, including TJC, Department of Health, funding agencies, FDA, HIPAA, and others.
  • Always seeks clarity to ensure understanding, keeps work processes reasonable and simple, and balances priorities.
  • Maintains film management and reading room areas in a well-stocked and organized manner.
  • Courteously handles all incoming telephone calls for reports from physicians and ancillary staff throughout the entity.
  • Demonstrates ability to report critical results to appropriate providers, fax and confirm transcription.
  • Assists scheduling with Interventional Radiology Approval form process.
  • Generating daily Radiologist schedule, working off of QGenda/Pennchart and correctly distributing to necessary recipients, this includes printing hard copies to be distributed throughout the radiology department.
  • Monitor Primordial messaging system for radiologist communication. Notify Radiologist of Code Stroke cases.
  • Import studies from PRA PACS and Sectra.

Credentials:

  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic technologists (ARRT)
  • Radiologic Technologist (Required)
  • Current New Jersey DEP Radiologic Technologist Multimodality technologist (CT/MR/NM/Mammo/US)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Associate of Arts or Science (Required)
  • Radiologic/Applied Imaging Sciences/Healthcare 2+ years Technologist experience in the healthcare/clinical setting. Excellent communication skills

Salary Range:

$30.96 - $49.36/Hourly
