Radiology Interventional Technologist
Location: Clinton Township, MI 48038

Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x8-Hour Day Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
(May extend to 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM as needed)
Hours per Week: 40 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

On-Call Requirement:
Must be available for after-hours on-call support, Monday–Friday, with 8 hours of daily availability.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiology Interventional Technologist performs invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures to assist in the evaluation and treatment of pathological conditions as prescribed by a physician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
  • Obtain and review patient medical history and clinical data
  • Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions
  • Assist Radiologist during complex diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Prepare and maintain sterile equipment, monitors, injectors, and imaging equipment
  • Ensure adequate supply and proper storage of procedural materials
  • Assess patient condition before, during, and after procedures
  • Operate imaging equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images
  • Perform radiation safety practices following ALARA principles
  • Manage PACS image quality, corrections, and image delivery
  • Complete RIS documentation including study start, completion, and indexing
  • Perform quality assurance procedures and required documentation
  • Assist with training of new staff or students as needed
  • Work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must maintain required continuing medical education hours

Required Certification & Licensure

  • Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required
  • ARRT registration required with advanced certification in one of the following:
  1. Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
  2. Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
  3. Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)

Additional Skills

  • Experience operating power injectors
  • Ability to work with guidewires
  • Experience with stent grafting, including emergency procedures
  • Ability to work independently/solo
  • Must be a self-starter
