    Job Summary

    Technician I, Patient Transportation ("Tech"), under general supervision, transports patients from the Emergency department to the five modalities of Radiology. Including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. Follows modality specific rules in regards for radiation and magnetic safety; not only for themselves but for the patients and other staff members as well.

    Essential Functions:

    • Transports patients from one area to another; using the 2 patient identifier process to ensure safe, quality care. (70%)
    • Assists technologists in every modality with moving patients from the stretcher, bed or wheelchair to exam table. (25%)
    • Ensures equipment management, wheelchairs, O2 and stretchers storage are in compliance with Joint Commission through rounding, recovery of departmental property and staff education of proper cleaning of equipment and storage locations. Cleans equipment after each patient use.

    Education:

    • No High School Diploma and/or No GED


    Work Experience:

    • less than 1 year Related experience


    Licenses:

    • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Ability to access and read organizational email.
