Detroit is a city in the middle of a remarkable resurgence - a dynamic blend of Midwest grit, creative energy, and genuine community pride. The cost of living is among the most competitive of any major metro in the country, putting spacious homes, excellent private and public schools, and a high quality of life well within reach on a physician's salary. The city's food and arts scenes have earned national recognition, from the James Beard-recognized restaurant corridor along Corktown to world-class institutions like the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. With easy access to the Great Lakes, Michigan's outdoors, and a thriving professional sports culture, Detroit offers a richness of lifestyle that consistently surprises those who discover it.
