Job Summary:- Under minimal supervision, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging procedures as requested by physicians to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The technologist is responsible for providing quality patient care while ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with departmental protocols and standards.
- The ideal candidate should demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients served within the department.
Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging procedures including chest, extremities, spine studies, catheter placements, and related exams.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures and report any changes for follow-up care.
- Transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or ambulation as required.
- Assist patients on and off imaging tables and provide support with mobility and personal care needs.
- Ensure patients are appropriately prepared and dressed for examinations.
- Assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
- Administer contrast media and flush lines with normal saline contrast/normal saline as permitted.
- Under direct radiologist supervision, may pull Lidocaine/buffered Lidocaine for procedures.
- Schedule patient examinations and assist with departmental workflow.
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
- Replenish supplies and assist with special assignments as needed.
- Attend department meetings, training sessions, and in-services.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education:- Completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology training program approved by the AMA.
Experience:- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a licensed Radiologic Technologist required.
- Epic EMR experience required:
- Minimum six (6) to twelve (12) months within the past year.
Required Certifications & Licensure:- California CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) License – Required.
- Fluoroscopy License – Required.
- ARRT Registration or ARRT Eligible – Required.
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification (American Heart Association standards) – Required.
- Valid Driver’s License – Required.
