Job Summary

Sign on Bonus: Up to $10,000 SOB Based on Eligibility

Position Summary

Takes radiologic films providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and positions patients for x-rays and selects exposure factors accurately. • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. • Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. • Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted. • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. • Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. • Checks for accuracy of ordered exams by comparing to written physician order. • Verifies correct patient by two forms of identity verification, prior to injecting patient or starting exam. • Maintains patient confidentiality per established CHN policies regarding HIPAA rights and practices. • Maintains proper oxygen therapy on patients who require oxygen. • Maintains skills required to change oxygen tanks. • Must be able to use masks and nasal canula. • Adjusts rate of O2 flow with mask/nasal canula according to written physician orders. • Secures and safely transports e-cylinders. • Accesses electronic patient health record via current system. • Inputs and processes requisitions. • Inputs all relevant information and provides film/imaging history to physician, as appropriate.

Expectations for operating room:

• Manipulates/operates all C-arms, troubleshoots errors with equipment, performs sterile technique while operating C-arm, assists circulating RN as needed, prints films from C-arm when needed, archives images to PACS from C-arm, sets-up C-arm with all patient information, positions C-arm to the surgeons specifications, locates/document patient dose.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology program. • Experience: The experience acquired during radiology program and student clinical training. • Licensure/Certifications: • ARRT- R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and AZ Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE)- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT). • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
