Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team. This position is primarily based at our Metairie location and is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in or enjoys working in a busy, patient focused orthopaedic practice.

Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans (OANO) has proudly served the Greater New Orleans community since 1949. With locations in Uptown New Orleans and Metairie, our practice is committed to providing high quality, compassionate orthopaedic care and a positive experience for every patient.

Our team includes 7 physicians, consisting of 6 orthopaedic surgeons and 1 pain medicine physician, along with 3 advanced practice providers (APPs). We provide care across a variety of specialties, including joint replacement, sports medicine, spine care, hand and upper extremity, shoulder, foot and ankle, pain management, trauma, and workers’ compensation.

Our physicians and providers are supported by an experienced team of clinical, administrative, management, and patient services staff. Every member of our team plays an important role in keeping the practice running smoothly and providing the level of care our patients have come to expect from OANO.

About the Position

The Radiology Tech will work closely with our physicians, providers, and clinical staff to provide quality diagnostic imaging for our orthopaedic patients. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working with a variety of patients, and able to maintain quality and efficiency during a busy clinic day.

Our office currently uses CR digital X ray equipment, with plans to upgrade to wireless digital radiography.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X ray examinations as ordered by our physicians and providers
• Properly position patients to obtain quality orthopaedic images
• Follow established radiation safety and protection standards
• Maintain accurate patient and imaging information
• Maintain X ray equipment and imaging areas
• Communicate effectively with physicians, providers, clinical staff, and patients
• Provide a professional and comfortable experience for patients throughout the imaging process
• Help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow

Schedule and Location

This position will be based primarily at our Metairie location. Occasional coverage at our Uptown location may be needed for vacation or sick coverage.

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. A 7:30 AM start on Wednesdays is preferred.

Qualifications

• Radiologic technology education and training required
• AART certification preferred
• Previous orthopaedic or outpatient experience preferred, if applicable
• Strong patient care and communication skills
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment
