Job Summary and Qualifications
Radiology Technologist
Availability for second shift is necessary for consideration. Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist on a full-time, part-time, PRN, per diem, as-needed basis.
You will take radiographs, x-rays of patients, which will assist physicians in diagnosis, treatment, and you will perform procedures accurately in a careful, compassionate, and respectful manner.
Please note our facility is a Level II Trauma Center, which requires availability for rotating call assignments. Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Technologist X-Ray Tech include but are not limited to:
• Possessing sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment, including surgical, portable, trauma, general, and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures. • Obtaining high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated. • Assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation. • Selecting proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assisting in the administration of contrast media when indicated. • Preparing transfer and positioning patients as needed, ensuring modesty, safety, utilizing auxiliary equipment. • Documenting all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtaining informed consent, and completing all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time. • Maintaining proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues, including the radiologist. • Checking the operation of the equipment, maintaining cleanliness of the table, equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases, and keeping the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
Qualifications
• Vocational, technical education. • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification, R (Registered) Clear active, Florida Department of Health licensure, CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist). • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Experience as a Radiology Tech in an acute-care hospital setting is preferred. • Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
