Position Overview: This role involves capturing x-ray images of specific areas of the human body for diagnostic evaluation while providing essential support to the imaging department. Responsibilities include performing standard x-rays, fluoroscopy, portable imaging, and operating room examinations, as well as conducting Bone Density assessments (BD registry required).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate procedures to patients to ensure they understand the process and provide relevant educational resources.
  • Assist in transporting patients to and from various clinical areas, confirming their identity in accordance with established protocols. Prepare patients for radiological examinations by positioning them appropriately.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize unnecessary exposure to patients.
  • Prepare and administer contrast agents and medications within the scope of practice and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences. Evaluate protocols and suggest improvements as necessary.
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to the PACS system, including proper lead markers and patient information.
  • Verify that equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. Lock or tag out equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • In emergency situations, may perform limited CT procedures when a CT Technologist is unavailable.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program.
Experience:
  • No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly engage in oral communication, utilizing hearing and speech.
  • Frequently distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or equipment malfunctions through hearing.
  • Occasionally lift or carry objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Regularly lift and move patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
  • Rarely required to kneel or sit.
