Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Positioning: Perform a variety of high-quality radiographic procedures utilizing proper positioning and techniques to optimize images for clinical interpretation.
Patient Interaction & Care: Explain procedures clearly to patients and families to reduce anxiety, obtain accurate clinical histories, and secure informed consent.
Radiation Safety (ALARA): Maintain radiation exposure levels strictly within As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits through the precise use of collimation devices and protective shielding.
Patient Safety Protocols: Ensure a secure environment by managing patient monitoring, utilizing equipment braking mechanisms, and maintaining side rails per risk management standards.
Data Integrity: Correctly identify patients and files to prevent mislabeled films, track patients using established department workflows, and resolve errors via the Radiology Information System.
Clinical Problem Solving: Recognize emergent or technical problems that may interfere with an exam and take immediate, proactive action to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Operations & Supply Stewardship: Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly imaging room; ensure essential supplies are stocked and remove expiring items from patient care areas.
Mentorship & Development: Assist in teaching and mentoring radiography students on sound radiologic principles and standard protocols.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or a closely related field.
Licensure: Current State of Delaware (DE) Radiologic Technologist License.
Certification: * Delaware State Radiation License.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Technical Literacy: Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with modern Radiology Information Systems.
Experience: Recent hospital-based experience as a Radiologic Technologist is highly preferred.
Professional Initiative: A self-motivated desire to stay abreast of technological changes by attending seminars and continuing education in-services.
Quality Improvement: Proactive engagement in departmental performance improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
