Position Overview
This role involves delivering X-Ray services to patients, adhering to the scope of practice for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients while selecting exposure parameters under direct supervision.
- Adhere to safety standards and radiation protection protocols.
- Assist supervising technologists and physicians with various imaging procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Accurately position patients and determine anatomical and technical specifications.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
- Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
- Currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program.
Experience
- No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Regularly engage in oral communication, utilizing hearing and speech.
- Frequently distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or malfunctioning equipment through hearing.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Regularly assist in lifting and moving patients.
- Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry on a keyboard.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
- Rarely required to kneel or sit.
Licenses and Certifications
Required: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
Work Schedule: Weekend shifts (United States).
