JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing both diagnostic CT and radiographic procedures at a technical level under direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist for designated areas and procedures. Thoroughly explains and educates patients about procedures. Consistently produces motion-free reproducible diagnostic images. Performs venipuncture. Reinforces patient compliance issues throughout the exam. Performs exams per protocol. Screens patients for contraindications to intravenous contrast infusion. Uses good judgment and discretion by consulting with radiologist when appropriate. Processes, networks, and films images, prepares room, equipment, supplies, and contrast media. Transport and transfers patients. Accurately completes all necessary paperwork and information for the patients medical record. Provides compassionate patient care. Works consistently to improve customer satisfaction. QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled as a second-year student in a JCERT approved Radiological Technology training program and with at least one year of clinical experience. Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing. Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing. Able to frequently lift up to 60 pounds, reach, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable glass/contacts, to read, write, and evaluate medical images. Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the telephone. Able to hear, see and feel to accurately observe, monitor, and administer care. Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e., operate imaging equipment).
