    Job Summary:

    Under the supervision of the OR Medical Director and/or OR Manager, incumbent performs a variety of invasive procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, by assisting the vascular surgeon physician during procedures. Must be able to perform independently and part of a progressive OR team to produce high quality images and excellent patient care. Participation in lean initiatives and other quality measures is required.

    Education:

    Required:

    A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program. Reference: https://www.arrt.org/Education/ (compliant with all continuing education mandates).

    Preferred:

    BS Health Science related field

    Experience:

    Required:

    Prior experience in OR Vascular Radiology or an intensive on-the-job training session is required before taking call

    Hospital clinical experience

    Advanced computer skills

    Preferred:

    EPIC EMR

    Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

    Required:

    ARRT (R) certified (compliant with all continuing education mandates

    BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

    Preferred:

    ARRT (VI) and/or (CT)

    ACLS certified

    Department Position Summary:

    Under the supervision of the OR Medical Director and/or OR Director and the Radiology Director, incumbent performs a variety of invasive procedures and assists the OR Interventionist with invasive procedures using advanced sterile scrub technique. This position requires independent judgment and initiative in utilization of advanced computerized angiographic equipment to create high quality diagnostic images. Extensive communication with physician is required. Demanding On-call duty is required for the care of emergent patients requiring services of the OR vascular team and/or CVOR. This position requires knowledge to use multiple different types of radiographic equipment, advanced imaging digital angiographic and OR CT. The vascular interventional technologist is expected to use skills to promote excellent patient care and quality outcomes by participation in lean measures and a host of other quality measures.

    The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
