    Job Description

    Radiologic Technologist I

    This is a 13-week contract position.

    10:00 PM - 8:00 AM, 4-10 hr shifts, every third weekend, holidays as needed, no on call.

    The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations that do not require constant supervision. This role involves performing essential tasks to deliver quality patient care and accurate diagnostic results.

    • Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
    • Restrict the radiation beam using cone and collimating devices to protect unaffected parts of the patient.
    • Perform portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
    • Ensure accurate film identification with patient details and x-ray numbers.
    • Develop exposed x-ray films using appropriate processing methods.
    • Complete patient requisitions with necessary details.
    • Maintain an orderly x-ray room as directed by the department head.
    • Prepare and assist in administering radiopaque contrast media to patients.
    • Carry out administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, patient instruction, and film filing.
    • Provide assistance to patients according to their individual needs and abilities.
    • Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
    • Ability to work independently in emergency and trauma care settings.
    • Experience in operating room (OR) settings and performing portable x-rays for pediatric patients.
    • Must possess a New Jersey State License and meet the requirements for the National Registry and pass the examination.
    • Completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and necessary clinical requirements.
