Job Description:
1.Performs all routine radiographic procedures. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, appreciation of immobilization and radiation protection devices. 2.Inventories and orders all supplies for the Radiology Department. Rotates stock and eliminates outdated items. 3.Performs visual preventive safety inspections. Reports dangerous equipment or equipment conditions to appropriate personnel. 4.Provides discharge instructions from the provider to each patient. Refers medical questions to the provider or nurse. 5.Assists the provider with minor office procedures such as splinting or sling adjustments. 6.Assists with routine housekeeping tasks such as trash removal, disinfecting and cleaning exam tables. Keeps exam rooms adequately stocked. 7.Enters accurate information into order entry system. Assures that all x-rays are transmitted to SMH for radiologist review. 8.Identifies emergency situations and notifies the provider and/or nurse immediately. 9.Checks x-ray reports against x-ray log and gives to the provider for review. Notifies appropriate radiology personnel of missing or late reports. 10.Chart entries on each patient is legible, accurate and complete. Corrects errors according to hospital policy. 11.Actively participates in Customer Service survey process. 12.Presents positive opportunities for office improvements to practice manager / coordinator. 13.Receives and screens all incoming telephone calls immediately and courteously. Provides appropriate information regarding medical inquiries or refers the call to the provider when appropriate.
