Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.Roles & ResponsibilitiesApply structural engineering and detailing techniques to support the development of bid plans for railroad bridges, retaining walls, box culverts and associated railroad structures. Analysis, design, and detailing will be included. Daily activities may also include utilizing conventional AREMA bridge engineering design procedures, performing structural calculations, assisting with geometric layout, developing structural details, and using specialized software such as LARSA, MathCAD, LEAPBridge (CONSPAN), LPile, FB MultiPier and MicroStation. It is also expected that this person will assign, supervise, and review work and/or check design calculations, plans, estimates and specifications produced by junior engineers and Bridge EITs. Occasional bridge inspections of in-service bridges, or bridge construction, may be required. Concurrent project management, and task management, of smaller projects may also be included.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in civil engineeringSE, or plan to obtain SE license5+ years of experience in bridge and transportation structures designAREMA design and railroad bridge inspection experienceFamiliarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridgeRequired QualificationsRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
