ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a seasonal position you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.

This position is responsible for safely moving freight, stock, and other materials by hand or using heavy equipment, driving vehicles, or operating machinery to complete assignments and assist workers safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include performing or scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance sometimes at elevated platforms with heavy tools, loading and unloading railcars or trucks, inspecting incoming materials, and verifying receipts. Youll keep records of materials received, maintain and clean vehicles, machinery, and equipment, and recommend safety improvements. Ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, and other regulations is crucial, as is attending training. Travel is required, and youll perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum educational experience or other relevant job requirements

As a successful Rail Material Handler, you will have:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights, and some Saturdays
