A night in the life

As Cambria’s daylight fades, you arrive at Didion ready to keep essential food ingredients moving. You climb into a locomotive cab to spot railcars, switch to a yard truck to reposition trailers, and coordinate precise loadouts that feed our customers’ timelines. Your focus: safety, quality, and flow—every minute from 6pm to 6am.

What you’ll operate

  • Locomotives, yard trucks, and other heavy industrial equipment that drive our logistics.
  • Railcars and trailers—handled with accuracy and care.
  • Loadout systems for high-quality food products ready to ship.

Core responsibilities

  • Run and pre/post-inspect equipment to ensure reliable, safe performance.
  • Execute truck and rail loadouts to hit delivery schedules.
  • Perform conductor/grounds duties in the rail yard.
  • Clean, maintain, and stage equipment for the next operation.
  • Use digital tools to follow schedules and record maintenance actions.
  • Uphold strict food safety and workplace safety standards.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED; technical training is a plus.
  • Hands-on time with locomotives or yard trucks is a bonus.
  • Experience in manufacturing or a food-safe setting preferred.
  • Independent problem-solver with sound judgment.
  • Team-first attitude, dependable, and strong work ethic.

Physical and environmental realities

  • Comfort working around noise, dust, heat, and cold.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Work at heights over 20 feet and in confined spaces when required.
  • Clear communication via 2-way radio and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Why Didion

  • Join a purpose-driven team committed to integrity, safety, and innovation.
  • Operate state-of-the-art equipment in a supportive environment.
  • Advance your skills with hands-on training and career development.
  • Make a tangible impact on the quality and reliability of food products.
