ROLE OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for general track repairs and new construction, including but not limited to:

• Replacing rail ties
• Spreading rock
• Vegetation control
• Snow removal
• Other related railroad tasks.

Typical schedule during production season is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM with 1 - 2 Saturdays per month. The typical schedule during maintenance season is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with Saturday as needed. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.

Starting wage is $22.00/hr and up depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow direction and accomplish assigned tasks within time standards with minimal supervision
• Use a variety of tools safely and proficiently, including but not limited to:
• Pneumatic and hydraulic tools
• Grinders
• Jacks
• Cutting torches
• General hand tools
• Drills
• Assist team members with completing their tasks, varying by the tasks at hand
• Good housekeeping of all machines and work area
• Learn, comprehend, and apply all new hire safety and on-the-job training
• Learn, comprehend, and apply FRA and company requirements
• Interact professionally with crew members and management in a team environment
• Comply with all safety policies
• Ensure Track Machines are kept in good quality
• Other duties may be assigned
• Must be willing to travel with overnight stays
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• As a successful Railroad Contracting Laborer, you will have:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Drivers license required
• Must be able to qualify as a valid worker under FRA standards
