Job Description

Assistant Project Manager

Our client, a well-established and growing General Contractor, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their Raleigh team. This is an urgent backfill hire supporting a strong pipeline of commercial work. The APM will work in-office, partnering closely with the Project Manager (reporting to one of our previous placements) and supporting projects across commercial offices, medical offices, and retail - split roughly 50% TI / 50% ground-up, with typical project values up to $25M.

Assist in managing all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution.

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.

Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Conduct site visits to oversee progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and reports.

Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Identify and resolve any project-related issues or challenges promptly.

Support the project manager in all administrative and operational tasks related to construction projects.

A successful Assistant Project Manager (APM) should have:

1-2 years of GC experience (renovation or ground-up)

A genuine passion for the industry, strong communication, and commitment to owner relationships

Experience or exposure to estimating, scheduling, buyouts, procurement, and understanding the full project lifecycle

Construction degree preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience considered

Competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $90,000 annually.
