About Rapid Innovation:

Rapid Innovation is a specialized prototype development team affiliated with C.J. Moyna & Sons and Mobile Track Solutions. We design and build prototype earthmoving equipment, taking concepts from idea to functional machine. Our work involves cutting, bending, grinding, and fabricating steel and other raw materials. We are a small, close-knit team that thrives on both independent craftsmanship and collaborative problem-solving.

Position Summary:

The Welder/Fabricator builds custom prototype equipment and assemblies by interpreting engineering drawings, fitting components, and delivering high-quality welds. This role is centered on developing new earthmoving equipment from start to finish in a small team

environment. Unlike high-volume production welding, this position emphasizes craftsmanship, problem-solving, and creative input on custom prototype work. We value people who bring ideas to the table and want room to grow and advance. We are willing to train motivated entry-level

people who show strong potential and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication specifications.

Lay out, fit, and assemble components prior to welding.

Perform MIG welding on steel components and assemblies.

Fabricate custom parts using saws, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment.

Verify measurements and ensure finished assemblies meet design specifications.

Grind, clean, and prepare welds for final assembly or paint.

Collaborate with engineers to solve fabrication challenges during prototype development.

Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality.

Assist with final assembly and installation of fabricated components.

Support team members across the shop as production needs arise.

Maintain equipment and work areas while following safety procedures.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience with MIG welding and metal fabrication preferred, but we are willing to train the right entry-level candidate.

Able to read blueprints and work independently (or willing to learn).

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Enjoys solving fabrication challenges and building custom products.

Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic shop setting.

Team-oriented with a helpful, collaborative attitude.

Brings creative ideas and wants to contribute to the full development process of new earthmoving equipment from start to finish.
