Description
Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients throughout the life span, neonatal through geriatric. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments, identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention, formulates and communications goal directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Provides further nursing assessment and critical thinking to manage/intervene with patients presenting questionable or complex issues, or clinical deterioration in response to requests from direct care staff and medical staff, or from clinical concerns/observations during targeted rounds. Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team in regard to patient treatments, interventions and disposition according to existing policies and protocols. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
Five years' experience as a professional nurse, including minimum two years in a critical care and/or hospital emergency department.
Maintenance of BLS, ACLS and PALS is required upon hire.
Achievement of national certification in critical care, emergency nursing or similar nursing specialty, within one year of hire is required.
