Join our dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions Level 2, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing advanced clinical techniques.
  • Prepare and process dental instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization and adherence to infection prevention management policies.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, following all safety protocols and radiation guidelines.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; ensure accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
  • Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and procedural efficiency.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with patient management to ensure safety during procedures.
  • Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support dental reception duties by managing appointment scheduling, patient intake, and answering patient inquiries with professionalism.
  • Uphold strict infection control standards through aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention protocols.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive strategies tailored to pediatric or general dentistry needs.

Qualifications

  • Valid registration as a Dental Assistant in Extended Functions Level 2 with current licensure or certification.
  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry specialties.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar patient management software; familiarity with medical coding is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental instruments, equipment operation, and clinical procedures including X-ray techniques.
  • Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control practices.
  • Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical imaging, instrument processing, and chairside support efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and provide compassionate patient care.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is preferred; certification or experience in pediatric settings is a plus.
