Sparta Networking is partnering with an innovative advanced energy organization developing next-generation nuclear power systems. We are seeking a Reactor Systems Engineer who will play a key role in the design, integration, and validation of complex reactor systems.

This position sits at the intersection of multiple engineering disciplines and requires strong systems thinking, technical depth, and the ability to coordinate across mechanical, nuclear, electrical, and thermal engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reactor system architecture and technical specifications
  • Coordinate integration of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and nuclear subsystems
  • Support reactor design analysis, modeling, and performance evaluation
  • Participate in system testing, validation, and operational readiness activities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve design challenges
  • Support documentation for safety analysis and regulatory review processes
  • Assist with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during system development and testing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience working with complex engineering systems or large-scale energy infrastructure
  • Strong systems engineering mindset with ability to understand cross-disciplinary interactions
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in nuclear energy, advanced reactors, aerospace, or defense systems
  • Familiarity with reactor safety analysis or regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with system modeling, simulation, or testing environments
  • Background in highly regulated or safety-critical industries

Compensation

$150,000 – $220,000 annually depending on experience, education, and qualifications.
