Essential Functions The Reading interventionist helps students develop proficient reading skills that will contribute to academic growth. The incumbent works extensively with students to help them improve specific reading skills such as letter-naming, initial sounds, phoneme segmentation, and comprehension strategies. The Interventionist addresses the specific needs of a particular scholars when regular classroom instruction is not sufficient. The Interventionist works with the teacher to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child.
