PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To promote quality in instruction and provide leadership in planning, developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating the district's English/Language Arts & Early Literacy program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with an emphasis in English and/or Reading
Valid teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and skill in English/Reading/Writing
Demonstrated interest in English/Reading/Writing education
Strong communication skills both written and oral
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective organizational skills
Ability to conduct model/demonstration lessons
Ability to work cooperatively and productively with para-professionals, professional peers, administrators, and supervisory staff
Proficient computer skills including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, and databanks
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years experience in an English/Reading classroom
