Salary:Per Teachers' Contract
To Start:August 24, 2026 (plus 2 days of mentoring prior to start date)
Qualifications: Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher Licensure: Reading, All Levels Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement, required Completion of the 2-hour online Language Ambassador Training Course, certificate required upon hire Bilingual Spanish, Preferred oIf bilingual, Proof of proficiency in the Target language, as aligned to DESE Guidance for the Provision of Interpreters in the Education Setting (p.8), required within the first year of employment.
Responsibilities: The following items are completed in English and/or Spanish, as appropriate: Improve the reading skills of students who have been identified as reading significantly below grade level. Familiarity with the MTSS Framework. Ability to identify each student's strengths, weaknesses, and interests, to engage and motivate the student Knowledge of various assessment tools Administer and analyze diagnostic tests and use data to inform daily instruction Knowledge of the latest literacy intervention programs Knowledge of phonics and phonological awareness instruction in English and Spanish Instruct small group intervention classes in Spanish and English Work collaboratively with school personnel to assist with implementation of Individual Student Success Plans and consistent progress monitoring to foster students' academic growth Knowledgeable about Special Education (SpEd) and English Learners (EL) in order to work with teachers to design appropriate reading programs Model reading strategies in the content area Communicate with content area teachers in order to support students with their curriculum in a small group setting Be a resource to content area teachers in selecting reading materials for students Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of educators Team-oriented individual willing to collaborate with the school community in the best interest of student growth Align lesson objectives to CCSS and WIDA standards Communicate with families regarding student progress and supports A positive person, willing to become consistently involved in all academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture Respect for diversity Perform standard duties as required by Administration
