Ready Mix Dispatcher

General Purpose:

Provides effective customer service and dispatch support by coordinating ready-mix concrete deliveries, communicating with drivers, and ensuring accurate and efficient routing to customer job sites. Serves as the primary point of contact for drivers and operations personnel to support on-time deliveries, optimize truck utilization, and maintain exceptional customer service. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Cultivate a positive safety culture and promote accountability for safe work practices.

• Communicate daily schedules, job assignments, directions, and delivery instructions to drivers.

• Coordinate and optimize truck dispatching, routing, and delivery schedules to maximize fleet efficiency.

• Monitor deliveries and make real-time schedule adjustments to address changing customer and operational needs.

• Maintain communication with drivers throughout the day regarding traffic conditions, job site access, delays, and delivery updates.

• Analyze dispatch information and evaluate alternatives to resolve logistical challenges and improve operational performance.

• Utilize information provided by drivers and field personnel to improve service and delivery efficiency.

• Coordinate with plant operations, customer service representatives, sales personnel, and management to ensure successful delivery execution.

• Ensure all delivery information and dispatch activities are accurately documented within company systems.

• Support compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety requirements.

• Track and document key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery performance and operational efficiency.

• Provide professional and effective communication with internal and external customers.

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Associate's degree preferred.

Experience

• 1+ year of dispatch, transportation, logistics, or ready-mix operations experience preferred.

• Geographic knowledge of local delivery areas and job site locations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of dispatching, routing, and transportation operations.

• Ability to read, understand, and communicate driving directions and job site instructions.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong verbal communication and multitasking skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and department software systems.

• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
