ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Ready Mix Driver, you will operate a ready mix truck to load, transport, and unload ready mixed concrete at various locations while practicing proper traffic, site, and delivery safety procedures. You will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members and provide excellent customer service and be knowledgeable about material properties.

Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 5:30 AM - 5:30 PM during production. Typical hours during Maintenance are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Hours may vary based on weather and customer demand.

We are hiring full-time, part-time, and seasonal team members to join our growing team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Summary of components that make up the job:

• Perform daily truck inspections and report needed repairs or safety concerns. • Perform daily housekeeping in truck cab and maintenance of equipment, including fluid levels and tire pressure. • Drives truck safely into position to receive load and adjusts ready mix to proper slump. • Adjusts drum revolutions to improve concrete quality. • Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites. • Recognizes surroundings and practices traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment. • Communicates with customer to understand requirements of job and deal with safety concerns. Clear communication is a must. • Positions truck for unloading and attaches chutes safely. • Adjusts moisture to contractors requirements. • Cleans truck safely after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck using water hose and hoe. This may require to climb up ladder using 3 points of contact onto platform. • Washes truck and keeps truck clean inside and out. • Completes recordkeeping tasks, including note changes made to the product and any weather and environmental conditions on the load ticket for quality assurance. • Daily timekeeping and time off requests inspection reports. • Ensures OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance, including attending training. • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum educational experience or other relevant job requirements:

• High school diploma or GED. • CDL license with two years truck driving experience. • Must maintain medical card and acceptable driving record. • One to three months experience and/or training related to ready mix delivery. • Ability to use computerized time tracking system. • Must be able to pass a DOT physical at pre-employment clinic appointment.
