Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Real Estate Accountant to support financial reporting, property accounting, and accounting operations across a diverse real estate portfolio. This role offers exposure to investment, development, construction, multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use real estate assets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain accounting records for multiple entities and properties.
  • Analyze property performance, rental income, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing transactions, and lender reporting.
  • Track construction costs, project budgets, and job cost accounting.
  • Support cash management, cash flow forecasting, and treasury activities.
  • Prepare management reports, budget-to-actual analyses, and financial reporting packages.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, construction, or development.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
  • Experience with financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, and account reconciliations.
  • Construction accounting, partnership accounting, or investor reporting experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
