A well-established, independently owned public accounting firm with more than a century of history serving middle-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals is seeking to add a Real Estate Advisory Senior / Supervisor to its growing team. Position Overview
The Real Estate Advisory Senior / Supervisor will play a key role in delivering outsourced accounting, advisory, and consulting services to real estate clients. This position will oversee financial reporting processes, advise on transaction-related accounting matters, collaborate with tax and audit teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. The role also offers leadership opportunities through mentoring staff and supporting strategic client initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, including review of reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, and management reporting packages.
Oversee transaction-related accounting activities, including purchase price allocations, opening balance sheet setups, and gain/loss calculations.
Partner with audit and tax professionals to deliver integrated solutions and support client compliance needs.
Review workpapers and accounting analyses related to cash, receivables, payables, fixed assets, revenue recognition, operating expenses, and debt compliance.
Serve as a key contact for clients, providing guidance on entity structuring, transaction planning, business process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Mentor and develop staff while identifying complex issues, recommending solutions, and communicating findings to internal leadership and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA or CPA eligibility (150 credit hours) preferred.
4+ years of public accounting experience serving real estate clients and/or progressive accounting experience within the real estate industry.
At least 2 years of experience operating in a Senior-level role within public accounting.
Strong understanding of real estate accounting, financial reporting, and advisory services.
Excellent client-facing communication skills with a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset.
Compensation
Base salary range of $70,000-$120,000, plus bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Hybrid work environment with office locations throughout the greater Chicago market
