Job Details

Our client is seeking a Senior Real Estate Attorney with 8+ years of experience handling complex commercial real estate matters. This attorney will play a key role in advising clients through all stages of transactions, from structuring and due diligence through closing.

Responsibilities
Lead commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and leasing matters.
Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, easements, development agreements, and related transactional documents.
Advise developers, investors, lenders, landlords, and tenants on a broad range of real estate issues.
Review title, survey, zoning, environmental, and due diligence materials.
Structure and negotiate joint venture, partnership, and investment agreements.
Manage transactions from initial negotiations through closing.
Collaborate with clients, lenders, title companies, brokers, and consultants to facilitate successful transactions.
Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active Illinois Bar admission or ability to obtain admission.
8+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
Experience handling sophisticated acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development matters.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
Ability to independently manage complex transactions and client relationships.
Strong business judgment and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience representing developers, institutional investors, private equity groups, or commercial lenders.
Background in hospitality, multifamily, industrial, office, retail, or mixed-use developments.
Joint venture and commercial finance experience.
Portable business is a plus but not required.
