Summary

This is the first of two levels in the Real Estate series.

Incumbents coordinate activities related to the acquisition, sale, donation, and lease of properties. Responsibilities may include coordinating appraisals; compiling data on adjudicated properties; providing information to the public; coordinating utility coordination and relocation efforts with third-parties; and maintaining records and files.

Examples of Duties

  • Coordinates the acquisition, sale, lease, and/or donation of various properties, monitors compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Coordinates real estate appraisals of land and residential, commercial, and/or industrial buildings, monitors inventories.
  • Researches, compiles, and analyzes property and real estate data and documentation including leases, deeds, applications, closing papers, market data, and/or related documents.
  • May coordinate with various departments and contractors to facilitate specialized needs to complete property transactions.
  • Counsels citizens on real estate pricing and sales processes; provides information to the public as requested.
  • Coordinates necessary permits and utility coordination relocation efforts as needed.
  • Maintains hard copy and electronic property records and files.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree and three years experience in Real Estate; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

Valid Drivers License as per State law or requirement.

Valid Notary Public License preferred.

  • Coordinating real estate sales and appraisals;

  • Counseling clients and the public on available real estate pricing and sales processes;
  • Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Using computers and related software applications;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
