Position Summary

Are you passionate about real estate and helping others succeed? Ogden-Weber Technical College is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Real Estate Instructor to inspire the next generation of real estate professionals. In this role, you will provide technical instruction in real estate principles and practices, including federal and Utah state law, while fostering a supportive learning environment built on OTECHs values of Community, Learning, and Integrity. The successful candidate will bring expertise in areas such as agency, contracts, real estate values, federal real estate guidelines, Utah Division of Real Estate law, and industry-related software and tools. Working closely with program faculty, you will play a vital role in supporting student success through program completion, job placement, and licensure outcomes. This position reports directly to the Real Estate Coordinator and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students as they prepare for rewarding careers in real estate.

Essential Functions

• Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; maintain student records and verification of competencies.

• Assist the Program Coordinator by teaching curriculum using appropriate instructional methodologies to increase student success.

• Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure.

• Advise students in the areas of program and college expectations, appropriate work behavior, and dress standards. Assist administration and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success.

• Assist the program coordinator in maintaining contact with local employers.

• Assist the program coordinator with maintaining program assets.

• Complete assignments within established timelines.

• Attend programmatic team meetings.

• Work cooperatively with the college community and with all college stakeholders. Represent the college community in a professional manner.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Required

• Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in the latest versions of software or equipment in business productivity software, financial and accounting principles, marketing, leadership and communication skills, agency, contracts, real estate values, federal real estate guidelines, and Utah Division of Real Estate law.
• Meet the requirements for or hold a current instructor certification as a pre-licensing agent from the Division of Real Estate
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as other computer software applications

Preferred

• Preference will be given to those with teaching and curriculum development experience.
• Preference will be given to those who hold an active broker license
• Preference will be given to those who hold an active broker teaching license from the Division of Real Estate
• Preference will be given to those who hold National Association of Realtors (NAR) designations

Physical Requirements:

• Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
• Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

Additional Information

WORKING HOURS: Monday-Friday | Up to 6 hours per week
