Overview of Responsibilities: Coordinates real estate funding and post-closing activities for home equity, purchases, and refinances including balancing mortgage transactions, processing payoffs, and reviewing closing documents to ensure compliance with MSGCU and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures new real estate lending transactions balance, discovers and corrects any outages and/or overages.
  • Boards loan into servicing system from Real Estate Lending Origination system.
  • Disburses and funds loans in accordance with disbursement date of loans: prepares funding form, disburses net-out funds.
  • Processes MSGCU payoffs, redirects insurance policies to Records Department, and processes referral credits.
  • Resolves loan disbursement discrepancies through interdepartmental cooperation with Real Estate Lending Closers, Underwriters, servicing team, MSGCU branches, and title companies.
  • Activates PMI Certificates for new loans through 3rd party PMI vendor.
  • Pays upfront MIP on new loans, processes HUD insurance applications, processes HUD binders for final approval through FHA Connection and FHA Catalyst.
  • Discovers and resolves any outstanding issues on HUD binders.
  • Reviews closing packages and ensures completeness/accuracy, compiles documents in stacking order.
  • Discovers and resolves any outstanding issues with the real estate lending team, MSGCU Branch, and/or member on closing packets.
  • Scans and uploads completed closing package into Real Estate Origination system.
  • Ensures all closing packages, recorded mortgages and final title policies have been returned from title companies.
    Completes wire transfers for upcoming loan fundings.

Essential Preparation and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED; and
  • Either:
    o    1 year of real estate funder and post-closer experience; or
    o    2 years of real estate lending experience or relevant lending experience in other roles.
  • Federal Housing Administration (FHA) lending experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and branch location environment with little discomfort from noise, extreme temperature, dust or other factors.  
  • Occasionally required to travel throughout MSGCU’s service area as business needs require.
  • Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, such as robbery. Receives detailed instructions and security procedures on an annual basis to minimize risk.
  • This work involves sitting most of the time with brief periods of walking or standing and may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. 
  • Normal working hours will be MSGCU’s standard branch and administrative office hours of operation, however, periodic weekends and/or before/after normal office hours will be required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base hourly pay begins at $21.75 / hour

  • If you are at least 21 years old, you will receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU, and a 100% match for the next 7% you contribute to your 401(k)
  • You will enjoy 12 paid holidays and up to 120 hours of PTO your first year of service (pro-rated based on start date)
