The Mortagee Claims Review Specialist conducts post-conveyance FHA insurance claim reviews involving complex documentation, regulatory interpretation, and financial analysis. The specialist independently evaluates claim eligibility, identifies surchargeable and ineligible costs, and documents determinations that must withstand audit and oversight. All work is performed in accordance with HUD policies, handbooks, Mortgagee Letters, and federal performance standards.
Security & Compliance:
Maintain compliance with federal PII and CUI protection requirements.
Follow system access, authentication, and remote-work security protocols.
Maintain eligibility through ongoing federal suitability requirements.
System & Access Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain access to HUD systems, including P260.
Demonstrated experience working in secure, role-based federal systems.
Strong system documentation discipline in high-volume environments.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of FHA claims processing, review, or mortgage servicing compliance experience.
Demonstrated experience in making independent claims determinations.
Strong knowledge of FHA foreclosure, conveyance, and post-conveyance claims.
Experience in identifying surchargeable items and claim reductions.
Ability to pass and maintain a federal background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supporting federal housing programs.
Experience with P260, FHA Connection, or similar claims systems.
Background in audit, quality control, or regulatory compliance.
Proven performance in production-driven federal environments.
Performance Expectations:
High accuracy with minimal rework.
Consistent, defensible determinations.
Strong system discipline and documentation quality.
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) and compensated in accordance with the applicable U.S. Department of Labor Wage Determination.
Compensation:
Pay Type: Hourly.
Pay Rate: SCA-compliant; based on experience and contract requirements.
Pay Frequency: Bi-monthly.
Overtime: Paid in accordance with federal and state law when authorized.
Benefits:
Health & Welfare (H&W) benefits or cash-in-lieu, as permitted under SCA.
Paid Federal Holidays per the applicable wage determination.
Paid Time Off (PTO) in accordance with contract requirements and company policy.
